"The Effects of Ecotourism on Endangered Species" with Dan Blumstein, Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCLA. Ecotourism is the fastest growing part of the world's largest industry, tourism. Yet, in order for ecotourism to be sustainable, we must know much more about how non-humans perceive the myriad of impacts associated with tourism so that they can be minimized. Dan's research aims to develop predictive models about how species react to human impacts based on an understanding of life-histories and evolutionary "experiences". This free educational event is sponsored by the West Los Angeles Group of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club.
